Al Ahly face Pyramids FC in Egyptian Premier League encounter
Defending champions Al Ahly will take on Pyramids FC on Saturday in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League, with kick-off set for 21:00 local time (1900 GMT).
Al Ahly boast a strong record against Pyramids FC in league meetings, winning eight of their previous encounters.
Pyramids have claimed four victories, while six matches ended in draws.
The Red Eagles will be aiming to extend their dominance as they push forward in the race for the league title.
Al Ahly opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Modern Sport, followed by a convincing 4-1 win over Pharco FC.
They were held to a goalless draw by Ghazl El Mahalla in the fourth-round last week.
However, head coach Jose Riveiro will be without several key players for Saturday’s match. Defenders Yassin Marei, Mohamed Shokry and Yasser Ibrahim are sidelined with muscle injuries, while midfielders Emam Ashour and Marwan Attia are also unavailable due to fitness concerns.
Pyramids FC, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency. They have managed just one win from four matches, drawing twice and losing their most recent outing against Future FC.
Both sides are currently level on five points, although Pyramids have played one game more than Al Ahly.
