Al Ahly men’s basketball team lost 74-71 to Al Ittihad of Alexandria on Monday in the Egyptian League.

Al Ahly had a strong start to the match with our players dominating the court on both ends.

Ehab Amin, who is back from injury, participated in the game while wearing a protective face mask and he took the game by storm, forming strong partnerships with Omar Tarek and Mohamed Abo El Nasr, which helped Al Ahly lead the first quarter 17-15.

Saif Samir, Ahmed Mohib, and Hatem El Behiry participated in the second quarter and put on strong performances alongside Amr El Gendy, and the game heated up. However, Al Ittihad took the lead to end the first half, leading 42-33.

In the third quarter, Ehab Amin kept his amazing performance before suffering an injury in his finger and left the game for treatment.

Our players pressured up the opponents to bounce back in the game and managed to narrow the score before taking the lead in the dying second of the third quarter, which ended with the Red Eagles leading 57-53.

In the fourth quarter, the two teams continued the strong performance and Al Ittihad took the lead again.  Ehab Amin re-joined the game and Al Ahly players continued their attempts to narrow the score in the final minutes but we missed many three-pointers and the game ended with a 74-71 for the visitors.
