Defending champions Al Ahly will kick off their Egyptian Premier League campaign against Modern Sport at 21:00 local time on Saturday at Cairo International Stadium.
The record 45-time champions hold the edge in previous meetings between the sides, with three wins from seven matches.
Modern Sport have managed one victory, with the other three encounters ending in draws.
Al Ahly are chasing a fourth consecutive league title as they look to extend their dominance in the domestic competition.
The Red Eagles held a pre-season training camp in Tunisia before returning to resume preparations at El-Tetsh Stadium, within the club’s headquarters in Cairo.
Their build-up included several friendlies, ending with matches against Egypt’s under-20 national team and Petrojet at Al-Salam Stadium earlier this week.
