Al Ahly resume training as Ashour returns

Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour has returned to full training ahead of the club’s Egyptian Premier League fixture against Ghazl El Mahalla, following his recovery from a broken clavicle.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury during a goalless draw against Inter Miami in the opening match of a tournament in June, ruling him out of Al Ahly’s remaining fixtures in the competition.

Ashour took part in the team's latest training session under the supervision of head coach Jose Riveiro at the club’s headquarters.

The session began with a gym workout, based on a programme designed by the technical staff, followed by on-pitch drills focusing on tactical and technical aspects.

Medical tests have cleared Ashour to resume training, with Riveiro to decide on his inclusion in the squad for upcoming matches.

Al Ahly are set to face Ghazl El Mahalla in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday, 25 August.

Attia continues recovery

Midfielder Marawan Attia is continuing his rehabilitation programme after undergoing hernia surgery, as he works towards regaining fitness for a return to training.

Attia missed Al Ahly’s pre-season camp in Tunisia, as well as the opening two league matches.

The Red Eagles began their league campaign with a draw against Modern Sport before securing a 4-1 win over Pharco FC in the second round.
