Al Ahly’s senior basketball team have signed Ahmed Abouelela from Ittihad of Alexandria to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
“The player signed his contract at the club’s headquarters and has been officially registered in the squad to support the team in the upcoming domestic and continental competitions,” said Khaled Al-Awadi, Al Ahly’s director of sporting activities.
Abouelela said joining the Cairo giants was a long-held ambition.
“Wearing the Red Eagles jersey is a dream come true,” he said.
“I don’t think I’ll face much difficulty adapting to the team, as I’m already in contact with many of Al Ahly’s players.”
