Muziwaki Zaza, head of academy teams at South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, thanked Al Ahly for inviting the club to take part in the tournament, noting the team’s appreciation for hosting an event of this scale.
“I would like to thank Al Ahly for giving us the opportunity to participate in such a strong tournament. We hope to represent African football well against the international teams involved, and we hope the competition reflects the true stature of our clubs on the continent,” he said.
