Al Ahly defender Yassin Marei was named man of the match after scoring in the champions’ 2-2 draw with Modern Sport in the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.
The 23-year-old produced an impressive performance at Cairo International Stadium, netting the equaliser that secured a point for the defending champions.
Ahmed Reda headed Al Ahly in front five minutes into the second half, but Hossam Hassan levelled for Modern Sport eight minutes later.
Ali El Fil put the hosts ahead in the 74th minute with another header before Marei made it 2-2 four minutes later.
