Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour returned to action on Monday, featuring in a friendly match against the club’s youth team as part of preparations for the resumption of the Egyptian Premier League following the international break.
Ashour, 27, had been sidelined for nearly three months after undergoing surgery on a broken clavicle, an injury sustained during Al Ahly’s campaign at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in June.
Under the supervision of coach Emad El Nahas, other injured players, including defender Yasser Ibrahim, Yassine Marei and Mohamed Shokry, continued their rehabilitation programmes on the sidelines.
Al Ahly are set to resume their league campaign on 14 September with a match against Enppi in the sixth round of the season.
