Celta Vigo Delegation Visits Al Ahly

A delegation from Spanish top-tier club RC Celta Vigo visited Al Ahly headquarters in Gezira on Wednesday, to discuss ways of cooperation between the two clubs.

The delegation included Marcos Alonso, Marcos Alonso, Coordinator of RC Celta Academy International, Diego Garcia, RC Celta Wanda Project Coordinator, and Juan Fuentes, delegate of LaLiga to Egypt.

The delegation was received by Al Ahly board members, Eng. Khaled Mortagy and Eng. Mohamed Serageldin.

This visit comes as part of the interest of Al Ahly board, chaired by Club President captain Mahmoud El Khatib, in exchanging visits and experiences with the biggest European clubs, which will benefit the club in multiple levels.

Eng. Mortagy and Eng. Serageldin had a long discussion with the Spanish delegation about the club's history and the club's vision for the future in different aspects, notably the establishment of a football company to manage the football sector, becoming the first club in the country to take this step.

The first visit of the RC Celta Vigo's delegation to Al Ahly comes as the Spanish club is interested in scouting talents from Africa, which comes in line with Al Ahly's vision as the club appointed the Czech expert, Michal Prokeš, as the manager of the youth sector and Khaled Bebo as the head of the youth sector in the club.

Alonso said that he is happy to visit a big club like Al Ahly and he is amazed by Al Ahly's big history that made the club unique in Africa and the Middle East.

Garcia noted that choosing Al Ahly to be their first destination in Africa was due to the club's huge history, adding that he is looking forward to Cooperation with Al Ahly.

Juan Fuentes stated that he is happy to visit the African Club of the Century, adding that the cooperation between Al Ahly and Celta Vigo will be a success.

Eng. Mortagy and Eng. Serageldin handed the Spanish delegation the club's shield and the club's flag while the Spanish delegation handed the club's flag to Al Ahly board members.
