Al Ahly midfielder Aliou Dieng joined Tuesday’s training session at the club’s Nasr City base as the team prepare for Friday’s Egyptian League Cup match against Enppi.
Dieng is expected to feature on Friday, depending on the coaching staff’s assessment, before travelling to join Mali’s training camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Al Ahly face Enppi on Friday at Al Salam Stadium in their opening League Cup fixture.
