El Khatib honors men's and women's tennis teams after league title victories

Al Ahly President Mahmoud El Khatib has honored the club's men’s and women’s tennis teams following their Egyptian League title victories for the 2025 season, in a ceremony attended by several board members.

The event featured a documentary film highlighting the journeys of Al Ahly’s tennis teams as they clinched their respective league titles.

Following the screening, players, coaches, and club officials were recognized for their achievements.

Among those honored were Dr. Tarek Sobhy, head of the tennis department, as well as deputy heads from the club’s various branches.

Technical Director Mahmoud Abdel-Mobdy, Assistant Coach Yomna Hassan, and all members of the technical and administrative staff were also celebrated for their contributions.

In his opening address, El Khatib paid tribute to Mounir Taha, widely regarded as the godfather of tennis at Al Ahly, acknowledging his lasting impact on the sport within the club.

El Khatib congratulated both the men’s and women’s teams, along with their coaches, for securing the league titles.

He urged them to continue striving for excellence while embodying the values and traditions that Al Ahly represents.

“Al Ahly stands for history, values, and progress. Every individual within the club has a role to play and must uphold its principles through dedication and a relentless drive to win titles,” said El Khatib.

He further expressed his gratitude, saying: “I thank both the players and coaching staff for their remarkable performance and for bringing the league trophies home, where they rightfully belong. Al Ahly spares no effort in supporting all its teams to achieve success.”

The club president emphasized that success is not solely defined by competition, but by being exemplary role models who follow coaching instructions and uphold Al Ahly’s ethos.

He also expressed his pleasure at seeing long-standing figures from the club’s tennis history in attendance and encouraged the current generation to follow their lead.

In closing, El Khatib called on everyone to work with unwavering commitment, stating: “You are writing history, and Al Ahly values and appreciates those who contribute to and uphold its principles.”

The ceremony concluded with players posing for commemorative photographs with Al Ahly’s president El Khatib.
