Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s President, expressed his happiness after signing an educational cooperation with the American University in Cairo, AUC, in a press conference that was held on Sunday at Al Ahly’s premises in Gezira.

This partnership comes in light of Al Ahly’s societal role, which was mentioned earlier by Al Ahly’s board of directors in Al Ahly’s Family Program.

In his speech, El Khatib welcomed Francis J. Ricciardone, AUC's President, and all the guests for attending the press conference; in addition to also highlighting the advantages of such cooperation.

“Al Ahly’s role doesn’t only stop to serving the sports industry, but it also transcends to serve the society and the Egyptian community.”

“We aim to have a beneficial cooperation with AUC, which is considered to be a huge educational institution that enjoys a great history and has an important leadership role.”

“This agreement also reflects the societal role of Al Ahly, which the club’s board of directors previously referred to in Al Ahly’s Family Program.”

“This project was on the board’s agenda before we were officially elected to represent the club. Mohamed Serag El Din, member of Al Ahly’s board of directors, was assigned to work on this task, and here we are today announcing it to the public.”

“Moreover, this project includes Al Ahly’s Academic Certificate which aims to prepare qualified cadres on the administrative level who are capable to have an influential role in marketing and finance.”

“On a different note, I believe that all sports and non-sports institutions are required to exert their maximum efforts in order to provide the Egyptian citizen with the best possible service, which will then benefit the greater good of the nation.”

“Finally, we are proud to sign such an agreement with AUC, which will positively benefit the Egyptian citizen and every fan of Al Ahly.”
