Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, will hold a press conference on Sunday morning at Al Ahly premises in Gezira to announce the details of the educational partnership with the American University in Cairo.
The partnership comes in the light of Al Ahly’s societal role, which was mentioned earlier by Al Ahly’s board of directors at Al Ahly’s Family Program.
Francis J. Ricciardone, AUC's president, will be among the attendees alongside several AUC professors as well as the club’s board members.
El Khatib is set to launch the project between the club and AUC, represented by AUC School of Business, which provides different sports and administrative programs.
Through the partnership with one of the most prestigious universities in the Middle East, the club aims to prepare qualified cadres on administrative, sports, and media levels to be able to meet the demands of the fast-developing industry, which turned out to be a huge field for investment and a key pillar of the economy of different countries.
Al Ahly will become the first club in the Middle East to launch its educational project, following the steps of European superpowers such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Juventus.
The project is set to go through different stages, starting from certified sports programs, which will be followed by internships at the club’s different departments to obtain the masters degree.
Finally, Al Ahly believe in the value of education and its important role in keeping up with global developments.
