El Nahas grateful for El Khatib tribute, thanks Al Ahly fans

Al Ahly former coach Emad El Nahas has expressed his gratitude to club president Mahmoud El Khatib, who honoured him on Tuesday following the conclusion of his stint with the first team.

El Nahas described the gesture as a "great honour" and thanked all members of the club who supported him during his time in charge.

“I’m truly happy to have been recognised by Captain El Khatib and the Planning Committee for the period I spent at the club, both at the end of last season and in recent weeks,” El Nahas said.

“This honour reflects Al Ahly’s continued commitment to valuing its people.”

He added that leading the team, even briefly, was a privilege and said he remains proud to be part of the club’s legacy.

“Al Ahly will always be my home. I’m honoured to serve the club in any capacity, at any time,” he said.

El Nahas said he was touched by the message inscribed on the commemorative shield he received during the tribute.

“There are no words to fully describe what I felt. It was a remarkable gesture from Captain El Khatib, who thanked me personally and wished me well in my next chapter.”

He also praised Al Ahly’s fans, calling them the club’s driving force.

“Everyone at the club works hard to bring joy to the supporters,” he said, expressing hope that the team continues to succeed across all competitions.
