
Match Report: Al Ahly 3-0 Talae’a El Gaish
Al Ahly defeated Talae’a El Gaish 3-0 tonight at Al Ahly Stadium in the final round of the Egyptian Premier League.
We started the game with frontline pressure and we succeeded to open the score early with an impressive touch by Walid Soliman after 42 seconds.
Soliman opened the score after a brilliant one-two pass with Kahraba. Soliman dribbled the goalkeeper and put the ball in the back of the net.
El Gaish was close to score the equalizer, but Araby Badr blocked the ball over the goal line to keep our nets clean.
In the 9th minute, Aliou Diang shot a strong ball, but it went beside the bar.
We kept our pressure on the opponent, as the Red Eagles kept threatening El Gaish’s net. Our players created several scoring opportunities, and at the 18th minute, Geraldo received a brilliant assist from Badji. Gerlado found the back of the net after an impressive chip to make the score 2-0.
The game was compacted once again in the midfield as El Gaish tried to score a goal, but all their attempts were blocked by our defense.
El Gaish’s Mohamed Nassef had a yellow card after a late challenge against our youngster Araby Badr in the 28th minute.
The Red Eagles kept the attacking pressure, searching for the third goal, and in the 35th minute Kahraba succeeded to add it after a fantastic pass from our youngster Mohamed Fakhry.
Our goalkeeper Aly Lotfi succeeded to keep his net clean for more minutes as he blocked a dangerous ball from the opponent’s strikers.
The game went on and the referee blew his half time whistle.
The second half started with a moderate tempo, as Al Ahly were trying to keep the control over the game. El Gaish kept their pressure to minimize the result and score a goal, but their attempts were all blocked by our defenders.
In the 52nd minute, Diang fell in pain after a late challenge from Ahmed Sami, but he continued the game normally without any injuries.
Kahraba scored the 4th goal and his second in the game, but it was disallowed by the referee as the ball crossed the line and it went to a corner kick.
Our head coach Pitso Mosimane used his bench after substituting Geraldo and Badji by Saleh Gomaa and Ahmed El Sheikh.
Another substitute was made by Mosimane in the 80th minute, as our veteran Walid Soliman was substituted by the youngster Shady Radwan.
The Red Eagles kept their pressure from the wings to score the 4th goal, but the opponent succeeded to block the shots away from the goal.
Our defender Ayman Ashraf was injured in the 86th minute, as he went out of the field to be checked by the doctor and then he joined the game once again normally.
Our South African coach made two substitutions as Yasser Ibrahim and Mohamed Hany joined the game instead of Araby Badr and Ahmed Fathy.
The game went on and El Gaish tried to score a goal in the final second, but the goal went away from the net. The referee gave 3 added minutes and the game was tightened again in the midfield.
The referee blew his final whistle to declare the beginning of our celebrations after winning our 42nd league title in the club’s history.
