Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports and former Iraqi footballer, Adnan Dirjal, expressed his happiness to visit Al Ahly’s premises in Gezira and to meet the club’s President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, during his visit to Cairo.
Derjal praised the club’s achievements on all levels under the leadership of Captain El Khatib, adding that El Khatib is a football legend, who has achieved many successes in the administrative field, affirming that he is happy to have a strong friendly relationship with Al Ahly’s President.
The Iraqi Minister added that he listened to a detailed explanation from El Khatib about the club’s workflow, whether in the football sector or other sectors, stating that he hopes to benefit from this experience in developing Iraqi football.
Derjal expressed his admiration for Al Ahly’s value in terms of sponsorship, marketing, sports investment, and infrastructure, noting that he wants to transcend this experience to Iraqi sports.
The Iraqi Minister hailed the club’s recent successes, specifically the winning of the CAF Champions League title, which qualified Al Ahly to the FIFA Club World Cup, adding that he wishes the best for the team in the prestigious competition.
