Our midfielder Mohamed Mahmoud has showed a great determination during the last two years after recovering from two consecutive ACL injuries. Mahmoud revealed his goals and ambitions with Al Ahly in the upcoming period.

Even though the last period was tough on him, he still has a solid determination to succeed with us. Check out our recent interview with Mohamed Mahmoud.

• First, tell us about your injury update and how were your travels to Germany?
  
  I am currently recovering very well, but at the start of my rehabilitation program I felt a little bit of pain in my knee. The doctors recommended me to get back to Germany, and after several diagnostics we found that I have a minor injury in the posterior muscle. I am currently doing a new rehabilitation program and I started to get back gradually to the full training.
   
• How did you respond to the rumors about you being reinjured?
  
  I did not focus with them at all, besides that I accept the fate as it in God's hands. Also, the fans always ask about me so I consider these actions as a way of showing their love to me..
   
• How did you overcome this tough period?
  
  When you became a player to a great club like Al Ahly, you have to accept anything. God helped me during these hard times and I succeeded to overcome this period with a smile. I am currently focusing on coming back again to the pitch to prove that these injuries were not the end of my career. For instance, I learnt a lot from my teammate Momen Zakaria regarding how to bear these hard times, especially that he is suffering a lot due to his injury.
   
• Recovering from this injury needs a lot of hard work, do you agree on that?
  
  Yes of course, besides that my young age helped me a lot during the recovery process.
   
• Can you tell us about the support you had from Al Ahly's board and coaching staff?
  
  They did not leave at any moment, starting from our President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib who was always asking about my status. Also, the director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz was with me in all my recovering stages, besides my teammates also and this is the normal thing in Al Ahly.
   
•  Can you tell us what makes the fans love you this much?
  
  This is a blessing from God, and I am sure that my love and loyalty to the club always appear to the fans. For an example, our new signing Taher Mohamed Taher is getting a great support before even playing with the first team.
   
• What do you think about Taher's signing especially you both were teammates in Egypt National under-23 football team?
  
  Taher will add more power to the team as he has a great talent in addition to his great personality. He only focuses on the training and how to develop his skills to appear in the best way during the games.
   
• How do you see your opportunity after returning from the injury?
  
  We are here one team and this is what I learned in Al Ahly. Also, all my friends in the team play in the same position, such as Magdy Afsha, Amr El Soulia and Saleh Gomaa, so the player who trains hard will get his chance.
   
• What was the most game you wished to play?
  
  I wished to play the derby against Zamalek, and also it was my dream to play in the CAF champion's league final wearing Al Ahly's shirt.
   
• Can you tell us about Al Ahly's chances to win the CAF Champions League?
  
  We have two important matches against AS Wydad in the semifinal. We are always speaking about winning the champions league especially after winning the Egyptian Premier League. So we seek to win this precious title to make our fans happy.
   
• What was your feeling after postponing the Olympic Games?
  
  I was very happy after hearing this news as it gives me more chances to participate in it especially that my first injury came after being selected to present the Olympic and First National team, while the second injury came after being selected to participate in Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
   
•  Who is your best friend in the team?
  
  Saad Samir and Karem Nedvid.
   
•  Can you tell us about your hobbies?
  
  I love playing videogames with my friends and watching movies.
   
• How hard will be the rivalry in the EPL during the next season?
  
  All the clubs used to strengthen their teams with new players, but Al Ahly as usual became the champion at the end.
   
• What is your message to our fans?
  
  I would like to thank all our beloved fans for their great support as they are the main reason behind winning the titles. Also, we will need their support in the upcoming period to clinch the African title.
