Al Ahly’s football first team managed to qualify to the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup, overcoming Real Madrid in number of matches played in the tournament. 

Al Duhail’s match marked Al Ahly’s 13th game in the tournament, surpassing Real Madrid who played a total of 12 matches in the FIFA Club World Cup. 

Moreover, Al Ahly became the second most club in terms of the number of appearances in the tournament, coming after New Zealand’s Auckland City who played 15 games in the FIFA Club World Cup. 

The Red Eagles are close to hold the same record as the New Zealanders, as the team is set to face Bayern Munich in the semifinals of the tournament and will play another game whatever the result of our upcoming match is.  

Therefore, Al Ahly are expected to reach a total of 15 games in the tournament, sharing the record with Auckland City. 

On a similar note, Hussein El Shahat scored the winning goal in Al Ahly’s 1-0 victory over Al-Duhail SC,  guiding the team to the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
