There have been ongoing talks over the last night between Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, and Hussein Labib, Zamalek’s president, who have all agreed on the mutual respect and historical relationship that both clubs enjoy. Additionally, all three sides condemned what happened last night on social media from both sides.
Furthermore, Dr. Sobhy congratulated Al Ahly on winning the tenth CAF Champions League title in the history of the club. Dr. Sobhy also made sure to stress the importance of having all sports entities unite together and serve the goals of the Egyptian government, which exerts endless efforts in order to overcome all the challenges that the nation faces.
On the other side, El Khatib acknowledged the efforts of the Egyptian government and sports institutions, who provide full support to all Egyptian clubs that represent the nation in international events. Moreover, El Khatib expressed his appreciation towards Zamalek’s president and the club’s board of directors who congratulated Al Ahly on winning the tenth CAF Champions League title.
Also, captain Hussein Labib, Zamalek’s president, acknowledged the efforts done by Dr. Sobhy and captain El Khatib, who clarified any misconceptions that occurred on social media. Captain El Khatib also emphasized to captain Labib that the club cherishes Zamalek’s congratulatory letter.
Finally, captain Labib added that any success achieved by an Egyptian club serves the interest of Egyptian sports in general, noting that Zamalek cherishes its relationship with all the clubs and always looks to cooperate with every club in a manner that benefits the Egyptian national teams.
