Al Ahly's football first team will begin the journey to defend our CAF Champions League title today, when we face AS SONIDEP in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32. 

The Red Eagles will be looking forward to start the competition with a positive result to maintain their undefeated away record, which exists ever since our 1-0 defeat against Étoile Sportive du Sahel in last season’s group stages. 

Our assistant coach, Cavin Johnson will be in charge of the team in today’s match due to the self-isolation of our manager Pitso Mosimane who recently tested positive for COVID-19. 

In addition to Mosimane, the following players: Amr El Soulia, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, and Ramy Rabia will also miss today’s match for the same reason. 

While, our attacking players Marwan Mohsen and Walid Soliman did not travel with the Al Ahly’s delegation after suffering earlier from a knee injury.

Al Ahly will play against AS SONIDEP at 4:00 PM, Cairo time, at the Général Seyni Kountché Stadium, in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32.
