President El Khatib Thanks the Organizers of the Globe Soccer Awards Event 

Our President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib spoke ahead of the Globe Soccer Awards Ceremony, which is held in Dubai. 

Captain El Khatib thanked all the organizers of the event, expressing his pride to attend the ceremony, during which Al Ahly will be receiving the "African Club of the Century & Top Winning Titles in the Middle East" award. 

“The last period was special for the club, especially after winning several trophies like the CAF Champions League title, which we achieved for the ninth time in the history of the club. Moreover, all these accomplishments show our ambition to win every competition that we participate in.”

“I would like to thank everyone who works at the club for their hard work and dedication. Their commitment and their efforts are the reason behind all of the club’s successes.” 

“We faced a lot of challenges in the previous period, such as changing our coaching staff amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our former manager, Rene Weiler did excellent work during his time at the club; however, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 he felt the need to be near his family. “

“Therefore, it was difficult for Weiler to stay and we were prepared to replace him with Pitso Mosimane, who had a great experience in African football. Thankfully, it was a good step for us which helped the team win several trophies.”

“Additionally, we work in a professional manner in order to make sure that we please our fans. This was evident in winning the CAF Champions League title which came after beating a great opponent like Zamalek SC.”

“The FIFA Club World Cup competition is a huge tournament and we are currently preparing well for it in order to win a medal.”

“There was a lot of pressure during the past period on our coaching staff and our players amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have complete faith in their abilities that they will pass such a difficult period and win a lot of trophies in the future.”

Finally, President El Khatib praised the performances of the Egyptian International player, Mohamed Salah, stating that he is one of the talented Egyptian players. He concluded by saying that Salah has to use his talent in the best possible manner in order to achieve his dreams in the future.
