Dr. Ahmed Abu Abla, head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, announced that Mohamed El Shenawy, Salah Mohsen, Akram Tawfik, and Taher Mohamed Taher tested negative for COVID-19.
Al Ahly’s quartet underwent a COVID-19 test on Wednesday and will undergo another test on Friday in the team’s residency in Morocco.
The aforementioned players will travel to Japan right after Saturday’s encounter to participate with Egypt’s U-23 national team in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
The Red Eagles are set to face Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa on Saturday in the CAF Champions League final at Mohamed V Stadium in Morocco.
