Al Ahly interim coach Emad El Nahas said the team played to win in their Egyptian Premier League clash with Enppi, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
“We entered the match looking for a win. We had a positive first half and took the lead through Trezeguet,” El-Nahhas said in the post-match press conference.
“However, we were affected by returning to competition after a long break.”
“Enppi scored from the penalty spot, and Ahly should have been awarded a similar penalty for a foul on Trezeguet,” he added.
El Nahas also noted that Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ was included in the starting lineup after confirming his readiness to play.
He stressed that the coaching staff will work to correct the mistakes observed during the match.
Al Ahly were held to a 1-1 draw by Enppi in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League at the Arab Contractors Stadium.
