Cjegga: We Were Not Lucky in the Draw 

AS SONIDEP's President Mohamed Cjegga expressed his happiness to see Al Ahly playing in Niger, adding that the draw was not in his side’s favor to face a big team like Al Ahly.

“Facing Al Ahly is a great challenge for us and we were not lucky in the draw. Al Ahly is a big club with a great history, as it was founded more than 100 years ago.”

"Al Ahly managed to clinch the CAF Champions League title last season for the ninth time in their history, while AS SONIDEP is just a new member in the African football.” 

“We are participating in the CAF Champions League for the third time and I am very glad to face the biggest club in the continent.” 

“Football always surprises us and I hope that we will make a surprise against Al Ahly. We all remember the Niger national football team’s victory over Egypt despite the strength of the Egyptian team.”

“There are always humanitarian relations aside from football and I am happy to visit Al Ahly delegation in Niamey and meet Al Ahly’s Director of Football Sayed Abdelhafiz, who is a good representative of Al Ahly.”
