Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa said the coaching staff had decided to give the players four days off from training starting Thursday, following the suspension of the Egyptian Premier League due to the international break.
Gomaa said the team held its training session on Wednesday morning at the Mukhtar El Tetsh Stadium, with the break beginning on Thursday as part of the coaching staff’s preparations for the team’s upcoming commitments.
The Red Eagles beat Abu Qir Fertilizers 2-0 on Tuesday in the fifth round of the league, with Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Hussein El Shahat scoring the goals.
Al Ahly opened their league campaign with a 3-2 win over Eastern Company, followed by a 2-0 victory over ZED and a 1-0 win against Smouha. They then drew 1-1 with Arab Contractors before beating Abu Qir Fertilizers 2-0.
