Sami Komsan, Al Ahly’s assistant coach, spoke ahead of our upcoming match against Sudan’s Al Merrikh SC.

Komsan stated that the team aims to achieve an important win which will help the Red Eagles in their journey to defend Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League title.

“We studied our opponent very well and we know that they have a lot of great players. Additionally, we will be playing the game in Sudan, which is an advantage for them.”

“The game will be held at 3:00 PM in a very hot weather, which further complicates the match on our players. However, I believe that the team is able to overcome such a difficult situation, given that we played all our away games in a similar atmosphere.”

“We started our preparations for the game ever since we were in Cairo. I believe that we prepared very well and everything is going as planned.”

“All our players are in good morale, especially after defeating DR Congo’s AS Vita Club away from home.”

“Moreover, Walid Soliman is back. However, we will miss the efforts of Hamdy Fathy, Ali Maaloul, and Mahmoud Wahid.”

Komsan concluded by asserting that Al Ahly’s football first team has a clear target ahead of them, which is defending the CAF Champions League title.

He also mentioned that the support of Al Ahly fans is the biggest motivator for the team to achieve their target.

On a similar note, Al Ahly are set to face Sudan’s Al Merrikh SC on April 3 at Al Hilal Stadium in the fifth fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage.
