Al Ahly’s assistant coach, Samy Komsan reflected on the team’s goalless draw against Pyramids F.C. in the tenth fixture in the Egyptian Premier League.

“Our team played really well today and we managed to create several goal-scoring opportunities. However, we failed to find the net. Al Ahly deserved to win today’s match, but this is football.”

“Moreover, we will start focusing on the FIFA Club World Cup. We have to work on fixing our mistakes ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.”

“FIFA Club World Cup is a prestigious tournament and attracts huge attention. We will have to appear in the best possible image, as we will be representing Egyptian and African football.”

“Al-Duhail SC is a great team and we have been following their previous games. In addition to them being a tough opponent, the tournament will be held in Qatar which will make the match more difficult for us.”

“We have several players that are injured in a very critical moment of the season; especially, Walid Soliman who was at his peak before his injury. However, we trust that all our players will appear in the best possible manner during the FIFA Club World Cup.”

“On a similar note, Mohamed Hany will undergo a medical check-up before traveling to Qatar in order to know the severity of his injury; while Akram Tawfik tested negative for COVID-19. The team will also undergo a COVID-19 test tomorrow before the start of the training session.”

Lastly, Komsan concluded his interview by stating that he will ask the players to forget today’s draw and to start concentrating on the FIFA Club World Cup.
